What is Sensory Integration?
The neurological process, which involves the collection of emotional data from the outside World or from our body, and the evaluation of both sensory and motor behaviors as a result of the obtained data, is called sensory integration.
Sensory Integration Therapy
There are 7 senses that man has to protect himself and understand the world around him. These are : senses of touch, tasting, hearing, vision, smell, movement, balance and body awareness. It is important that individuals react to their needs and surroundings using all 7 senses.
In sensory integration therapy, the goal is to create an environment that will help the children interact in a peaceful, happy environment by feeling safe. Because positive emotions that individuals feel are factors that make it easier to learn and interact.
Therapy begins with the recognition of the child, learning the sensory deficiencies, ensuring that their needs are understood. The goal begins with drawing the roadmap in order to communicate and learn by recognizing the child.
